Do you know WHAT is the greatest show on the earth which comes every four years once? Well it is the FIFA WORLD CUP FOOTBALL finals. The World Cup Finals is just less than two months away. For soccer fans all around the world, this is the greatest moment in our lives which we eagerly wait for every four years. For soccer ILLITERATE, this is the 17th edition of the World Cup since it started in 1930.

Brazil has won the cup four times. Germany and Italy three times. Uruguay and Argentina twice. England and France once each. There are many first for this WORLD CUP. FIRST time all the past winners are taking part

FIRST time it is held in Asia. And it is also the FIRST time jointly hosted by two different countries namely Korea and Japan.

Leading British bookmaker William Hill predicts that betting turnover will break all records. Bookmakers are rubbing their hands at the prospect of a £150m World Cup betting bonanza or equivalent RM1 billion official betting fund. This does not include billions which will exchange hands unofficially at the coffee shops, underground punters, all the Ah Soh’s and lay mans like us. The tournament is traditionally one of the biggest for the BETTING industry. This year a combination of football's growing popularity, the internet and the tournament's location has already sparked a surge in interest. The Far East is one of the world's biggest betting markets, and business is sure to be brisk in Japan and Korea. If you are interested to make some EXTRA cash during this tournament you can place your bets on four teams namely Argentina, France, Italy or Brazil.

The WORLD CUP is simply devastating with scintillating performance by the worlds’ best teams. It is all up there for viewing – the triumphs, the tragedies, the heroes and the villains. So everyone wants to be a WINNER! What separates the WINNERS from the rest? Is it sheer hard work & determination like when Germany upset Hungary 3-2 in 1954? Maybe there are many strategies to WIN. As for Business Systems Divisions this year our campaign theme was announced as Winning Is all about Networking. We need to network with our customers to sell our network able products. Do you want to be a winner? It depends on US. Someone said in the Head Office that we are staying in a Lions DEN with PAPA lion and many baby lions or cubs. Well they are true to some extend because today I am going to share with you the DEN concept in Networking.

D stands for Discipline – To be a WINNER we need to have discipline squad. Great soccer teams like Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool have very discipline teams. If players misbehave , they have to sit out the matches until they get back their dicipline. Managers like Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger are so strict. They are Diciplinarian. If the players do not listen to them they will transfer them or at worst fire them. This managers are no nonsense managers. If you are no good you got go. This iron steel discipline have made this to become stronger and stronger. Only the best being maintained. So are we a disciplined squad? Discipline of a player can be seen from the way we react to our company directions. Is our company slogan is only for decoration on the wall or we really want to use it in our daily life. Do we come early to start our work or never even attend morning assembly? How about company functions like dinners? Do we wait for dealers to leave or we leave before our dealers?

E stands for Elimination of the I factor. In the 21st century there is no place for individuals. Look at Ronaldo in 1998 World Cup. In the final he was sick. Brazil depended a lot on him and were trashed by the team spirit of the French. So do we have this ‘I’ factor in our business. Is it Your dealer or our dealers? Is it your slow moving stock or our slow moving stock? Is PSI only marketing responsibility or the whole Sales & Marketing. responsibility? We are in a Lions DEN so we have no choice but to live together. We must Eliminate of the I factor and build in more WE sentiment.

N stands Networking starts with you and me. Why are we talking about networking with customers and networking with products when we cannot network with ourselves. In the English Premier League, it is norm that Managers meet up at the pub after matches to network. These are the places where they chit chat and understand the finer points of the games and exchange notes. These is where they communicate. We have been talking about better communication all our life but what we fail to realize is HOW to do that? Well, there are many ways. Our BOSS soon will be having the much published and belated Chinese New Year cum English New Year gathering at his palace in Shah Alam. We are going to have a soccer game with PSE to network with our BLUE HAWK brothers and sisters. How about pot lucks We had few pot lucks before …do we really make attempt to attend or escape them? How about breakfast in the morning? Do we go out together? Lunch time eat alone or eat with our fellow lions? Yesterday TK Lim gave us a treat. Fifteen boxes is a lot but we manage to finish because we are really hungry lions waiting for the April Fool PIZZA. And soon Siva and PB Ooi will be buying us Kentucky and Macdonald to develop further our communion. How about birthday celebration monthly for birthday babies? and not forgetting the WORLD CUP games which will be starting about 5.00pm from May 31st onwards. We can make ourselves free during those evenings to network while making some quick bucks while watching our favorite teams fighting it to WIN the WORLD CUP. So, Networking starts with you and me
